If you are using an IRC Client, use these to connect:
Host / Server irc.lemurtalk.com Port 6697 (TLS) or 6667 (Plaintext) Using TLS is recommended. Only use Plaintext if your client does not support it or if your ISP is blocking the port.Here are some of the most commond IRC commands you can use. Type them with a slash at the beginning for the system to accept them as commands. You can find more commands on this page if you are interested.
Nicknames are "usernames" - you don't need to register to chat, though you might want to register your nickname so people can't pretend to be you.

Once you register your nick, if someone (including you) tries to login using that nick, they will be asked to identify themselves. If you/they don't, their nick will be changed.

You can create channels - just "join" a non-existing channel and it will be created. User-created channels disappear once everyone leaves.

Don't forget to prefix the channel name with a hashtag.
If you'll be away from the keyboard for a bit, you can set an away message.

By default, only the channel creator can set the topic. If you are the channel creator and you want anyone to be able to set the topic, type:

You can add a password to the channels you've created/own.
